MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING

Build confident mental health support within your workplace

Mental Health First Aid training equips your organisation with the knowledge and practical skills to recognise early signs of mental health difficulties, respond appropriately, and guide colleagues toward professional support where needed. Delivered by a fully accredited instructor and Chartered Organisational Psychologist, the course provides structured, evidence-based learning tailored to real workplace environments.

Why this matters

Workplaces must recognise and respond to mental health challenges. Without clear knowledge and internal support, early signs are missed and issues escalate. Mental Health First Aid training enables early action, reducing absence and strengthening confident, constructive responses. When mental health is addressed early and appropriately, organisations reduce risk, strengthen morale, and build a more resilient culture.

The focus is on applied skills, clear frameworks, and responsible signposting — not theory alone.
Understanding Mental Health
Participants develop a clear understanding of common mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and stress-related difficulties. The course explores signs, symptoms, and how these may present in workplace environments.
Recognising Early Warning Signs
Training focuses on identifying behavioural, emotional, and performance indicators that may signal someone is struggling. Emphasis is placed on early recognition to prevent escalation.
Having Supportive Conversations
Participants learn structured approaches for starting and managing sensitive conversations confidently and appropriately. Guidance is provided on listening skills, boundaries, and maintaining professionalism.
Responding in a Crisis
Clear protocols are introduced for responding to acute mental health situations safely and responsibly. Participants understand when immediate action is required and how to escalate appropriately.
Professional Boundaries & Signposting
The course clarifies the role of a Mental Health First Aider and the limits of that role. Participants learn how to guide colleagues toward professional support services without overstepping.
Certification & Accreditation
Completion leads to government-approved MHFA certification. Training can be delivered over one or two days, on-site or off-site, across Scotland and England/Wales.
